Cindy Reyes, 55, of Chicago, Illinois passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 from complications due to colon cancer.

Funeral service was at 9 AM on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Alvarez Funeral Home. Interment followed at Eden Memorial Park Cemetery in Schiller Park. Seymour Memory Gardens. Due to Covid-19, the service was only for immediate family and close personal friends.

How can I thank all who have prayed for us? How can I thank all who cried out to the Lord on our behalf?

Cindy is with our Lord, she is free from pain and in the arms of our Father. She lives in Heaven.

Cindy was a force in life. Growing up, we all said she was the sick one since she was born partially deaf and had some health issues but, honestly, she was strong. She was diagnosed with cancer over 5 years ago and it never stopped her from living. She lived life like she had many years ahead of her and she believed this completely until, in Nov 2020, the oncologist told her that her cancer was now terminal.

Cindy was taken to Heaven while sleeping the morning of February 27th. We all see God's precious hands in the way He received her into His kingdom.

Despite our intense feelings of loss, God continues to hold us tight and shower us with love and comfort. He is our hope.

Cindy's service was very blessed and we felt God's presence and peace every moment. Every single friend and family spoke at the funeral home. We all strove to share tidbits of Cindy, her life and the things she loved with the people who were able to be there. Tammy, Dede & Tashi carefully chose a compilation of some of her favorite music which played throughout the whole building. Dede created a slide show of precious picture memories. Abby made flowers for Cindy that we placed on her head, hands and surrounded her casket. Joey and Tammy carefully chose the casket. The handprints of her family was clearly seen throughout the service.

Cindy was a committed Christian. She loved God and followed Him most of her life. She loved her family fiercely and had a special relationship with her dad. She loved and was loved. She left a huge void in our hearts that only shows how much she was loved. We all wait until the Reyes family is once again reunited.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Rosario Reyes (5/26/2020) and her brother, Emmanuel Reyes (6/26/2010).

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
~Revelations 21:4

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
