Stanley Cooper, Jr. age 71, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. Memorial services are scheduled at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 5 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 4-5 p.m.

Mr. Cooper, son of the late Stanley William Cooper, Sr. and Annie Marie Davis Cooper, was born April 9, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas.

He attended Silver Run Baptist Church and was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad where he worked faithfully for over 20 years. Mr. Cooper raised horses his entire life. He truly loved the Old West culture and outdoor living. He was a plain and simple man, a loyal friend to many. Mr. Cooper always looked forward to traveling horseback with the local wagon train from Phenix City to Montgomery each year, where he developed life-long friendships with fellow riders. He also enjoyed spending time watching classic western shows. The family remembers him as a good husband, loving father and grandfather-one who never met a stranger.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Cooper; and two sisters, Sharon Owens and Debra Culpepper.

Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie Cooper; two sons, Storm Cooper and Skylar Cooper, both of Phenix City; two brothers, Terry Cooper of Atlanta, Georgia and Ricky Cooper of Smiths, Alabama; extended family.
