He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Scearce Hardy; parents, Jammie Hardy and Nannie Lou "Dottie" Joyner Ladd; grandmother, Grandma Joyner
He is survived in by his wife, Tying O'Bannon Hardy; her daughters, Tomeka Bowling, Tomasina Wesley (Willie), and Tyia E. Bojang (Momadue); step-daughter, Dennis Scearce; grandchildren, Shay Shanklin Bowling, Jemeke Bowling-Bryant, Tyon Bojang, and twins, Zayna and Zyra Bojang ; three great grandchildren; and brothers, Richard Hardy and Steven Ladd; step siblings, Donald Ladd, Jr., and Jacqualine; and a host of cousins.
