Monte Ray Wheeler, 73, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2020, surrounded by his eternal companion and four daughters. Monte was born on July 2, 1947, in Van Nuys, California to Dorothy Johnson Wheeler and Raymond Doral Wheeler. Monte served the German people as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the late 1960s. After his mission, Monte received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Arizona State University, later continuing his education and receiving a Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence from the same institution. Monte was married and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple to Judie Rae Curtis on August 4, 1978. He worked for the State of Arizona Department of Economic Security for over 30 years as a budget analyst. Monte later served as a senior missionary for his church with his Judie in the Salt Lake City Headquarters Mission from 2018-2019. He enjoyed Cold Stone ice cream, a ripe melon, temple trips, taco Tuesday, hiking adventures with his family and scouts, long drives in his 1994 Ford Ranger, and the fragrant smell of white carnations. Monte was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, his father, Raymond, and his stepmother, Roberla Wheeler. He is survived by his wife Judie, daughters Jenny Wheeler, Amee DeMarco (Damien), Kimberlee McDowell (Tim) and Caree Heidenreich (Darl), 12 grandchildren, sisters Shelley Christensen and Denei Pace, and his stepfather Earl Zarbin.
