Gerald was born July 24, 1932, in Quincy, MA to Roger W. Grant and Phena Anderson. Gerald served in the U.S. Navy (Electrician) and Fleet Reserves for over 30 years. After retirement from the Navy, he went on to work for Norfolk Development and Housing Authority, Jonathan Corporation and Lyon Shipyard. Gerald was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Janis Belch (Tommy), Paula Benton (Steve), and Peaches Jenkins (Earl); grandchildren, Ericka Litten (Chuck), Sonya Jenkins-Pacilio (Jerry), Phillip Jenkins, Tanya Benton, Gregory Radford, Denise Sweet, and Summer Mooney; great-grandchildren, Donald and Michael Sweet; and great-great-grandson, Hayden Sweet. He is preceded in death by both parents; his wife, (Evelyn) and son, Paul Mooney, Jr.
Funeral will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd., Suffolk on Monday, April 12, at 11 a.m.
