KING – Richard Gene Vaughn, 77, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021.
He was born June 26, 1943 in Surry County, North Carolina, to the late Richard Carson Vaughn and Nannie Tilley Vaughn Boles. Prior to retirement, he was a long-distance independent truck driver in commercial trucking.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years; two sons; one stepdaughter; two grandchildren; five step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to sister-in-law Linda for her love and care during this past year. (Names of the living have been withheld out of respect for their privacy.)
Slate Funeral Home, 132 E. Dalton Rd., King, NC 27021 is honored to serve the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
