Melinda D. Wesley Collins, 84 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Melinda was born in Ohio on November 30th, 1936, daughter of the late Raymond Thomas "R.T." and Girtie Emalina Wesley. She was a homemaker, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and a member of the Cuba Church of God.
Melinda was survived by her loving husband, Donald Collins; three sons, Mike York and Doug York, both of Eubank, Kentucky, and Ricky Wesley of Highland, Kentucky; three daughters, Earlene Wallace of Mobile, Alabama, Donna Estes of Eubank, Kentucky, and Pam Payton of Science Hill, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Thomas "R.T." Wesley, who departed this life on July 30th, 1963 and Girtie Emalina Wesley, who departed this life on December 5th, 1983; one daughter, Faye Taylor; five brothers, William Bass Wesley, who departed this life on May 10th, 2013, Avery Thomas "Abe" Wesley, who departed this life on April 25th, 2004, Claude Lee Wesley, who departed this life on February 20th, 1995, Carlos "Tiny Tim" Wesley, who departed this life on January 5th, 2001, and Charles Milford Wesley, who departed this life on April 26th, 1976; three sisters, Thelma Rash, Alma Ellan "Cricket" Wilson, who departed this life on June 30th, 2016, and Pansy Hamm; and an infant brother and sister, who died at birth.
Visitations were held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 11th, 2021 at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 11th, 2021 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Carson Atwood officiating.
Burial followed in the Science Hill Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
