Richard D. Vaughn, 85, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 7:57 A.M., Friday, April 9, 2021 at his residence.
Richard had been a church minister of music and youth. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the 27th Army Band.
He was born May 27, 1935 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of William Roy and Mary Susan (Farmer) Vaughn.
He married Patsy on August 27, 1957 at Du Quoin, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Pinckneyville, two daughters - Cathy and husband John of Pinckneyville and Christy and husband Chad of Clarksville, TN, four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - Virgil Vaughn, and two sisters - Virginia Green and Betty Green.
Private family services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Rob Mathis officiating.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.
