Clyde Rawson Davis was born on May 25, 1941 in Lubbock County, Texas to Lester Clyde Davis and Allene Rawson Davis. Clyde died on February 20, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Clyde's family moved to Port Arthur, Texas where his only sibling, Carol Kay Davis, was born in 1945. He grew up in Port Arthur and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1958. During high school he was a member of the Slide Rule Club, Chemistry Club and Honor Roll. He served in the U.S. Air Force OSI during the Vietnam War.

Clyde worked as a civilian as a U.S. Postal Inspector from October 1969 until his retirement in 1992. An outside interest of his was WWII history and he authored/co-authored a few WWII era historical books. He had a museum quality collection of WWII items. For several years in retirement he video recorded games played by the semi-pro hockey team Houston Aeros for games played at the Summit.

His father, Lester Clyde Davis, his mother, Allene Rawson Butler and his sister, Carol Kay Mullin, preceded him in death. His sister married Robert E. Mullin of Houston but they did not have any children.
