Donald (Donnie) Harrison passed away at his home in Wingo KY, with his family by his side on Thursday April 8th, 2021. 61 years old, Donnie was born in Chicago in 1960, and came to reside in Calloway County, KY for his formative years. Married in May 1980, he and his wife, Dreama Harrison would have three children, Angela (Brent) Workman of Wingo, KY, Allison (Bryan) Mack of Paducah KY, and Tyler Harrison, of Wingo, KY. Donnie excelled in many areas in his life, but none more so than his role as husband and father.

Those who knew him will remember him as a man who could seemingly do anything and do it well. He made a career working in construction. His ingenuity was rivaled by few and envied by many. If someone was in a bind or needed help fixing something, he was their first call.

A faithful Christian, dedicated family-man, worker, friend, and mentor, Donnie's legacy will live on through his survivors and anyone who was lucky enough to know him. He is survived by his wife; three children; two grandchildren, Kyra Goodson and Lilly Mack; two brothers, Ronnie of Murray, KY and James Harrison of New Mexico; three sisters, Lisa (J.R.) Ramsey of Clarksville, TN, Jennifer Harrison and Julie Harrison both of Michigan; his Mother Bessie Harrison of Murray, KY and his aunt, Phyllis Sykes of Marion, KY; as well as several nieces and nephews. Though, there are likely many more who will feel the sting of his loss.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Harrison and his grandparents, Byron and Mable Sykes.

Donnie's faith was also an inspiration to many. He served as a founding member, deacon and Sunday School Director of New Vision Baptist Church, where he was also licensed as a minister. He embodied a particular verse that he also often quoted, "I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1. He was loved dearly by many and will be deeply missed.
