Katie Short, 56, of Oceola, died April 3, 2021 at OSU Wexner Medical Center.

She was born March 20, 1965 in Bucyrus to the late Alex R. Sr. and Mary A. (Moore) Miller. Katie went onto truck driving school in Florida where she obtained her chauffer/commercial driver's license.

On December 31, 1983, she married Brian D. Short, and he survives. Katie and Brian, both being truck drivers, shared many memories on the open road and often traveled together, sharing the duties. She enjoyed the scenery and peacefulness the drive offered, and they were fortunate to visit many sites in all parts of the US and Canada.

Katie played BINGO wherever they called numbers and enjoyed time spent with family and friends sitting around a campfire. Life and those around her went on hold when her Soap's were on the TV and she always enjoyed the companionship her various pets offered over the years.

In addition to Brian, her best friend and husband of 37 years, Katie is survived by a stepson, Anthony Thomas Short; brother, Alex R. Miller Jr.; mother-in-law, Judith Short as well as many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Roger L. Miller, Donald E. Miller and Victoria Miller and her father-in-law, Michael Short.

No services will be held, and donations are encouraged to be made payable to American Diabetes Association or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service, who handled her cremation arrangements.
