THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Mar. 5, 1968, p. 8: 'Tommy Leon Ridens, 59, a retired plumber living at Powderly, died of illness in St. Joseph's Hospital, Paris, Monday at 5:30 p.m. He was born in Red River County, April 28, 1908, son of B. F. and Cora (Crouch) Ridens. He was a member of Powderly Church of Christ. Friends will be received Tuesday, between 7:30 and 9 p.m. here at Leverett and Steele Funeral Home, where the service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., with burial in Long Cemetery. Mr. Ridens leaves his wife, the former Syble [Geneva] Coble, whom he married at Hugo, Okla., Feb 2, 1938; four children: Tommy Don Ridens, Paris; Larry Gene Ridens, Garland; Mrs. Jenette Hervey and Miss Pamela Ann Ridens, Powderly. Also four grandchildren and five brothers and sisters: Leo Ridens, Mrs. L. W. Turner and Mrs. Archie Slaton, all of Pairs, and Mrs. W. O. Carroll, Chidester, Ark.'
