Dennis E. Hughes, age 79, passed away March 28, 2021, at The Pillars Hospice Home. He was born July 7, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ray Hughes and Helen (Stringfellow) Hughes.

He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High and the University of Northern Iowa. He spent years teaching abroad and in the US, then later retired from the MN CSED. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carole Sargent of Walker, MN.

He is survived by his husband Dale Prochazka-Hughes of the Twin Cities; sister Janice Leslie of Fremont, NE; niece Geri Sargent of Walker, MN; nephews Bill Sargent of Walker, MN and Kurt Sargent of Bemidji, MN; with many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at the Hillside Chapel in Minneapolis on Saturday, April 10. Visitation at 1pm. Service at 2pm. Burial at 3pm. Memorials preferred to the American Lung Association. Washburn-McReavy.com Hillside Chapel 612-781-1999
