David "Super Dave" Gonzales, 59, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 in Colby, Kansas.

He was born in Lubbock, Texas on January 15, 1962 to the late Gaspar Gonzales and Esperanza (Mata) Gonzales, where he was raised and received his education.

David was a proud and honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.

After his time with the U. S. Army, he began employment with U. S. Express Enterprises, Inc. before joining Crete Carriers and Shaffer Trucking as a truck driver, where he worked for a combined total of over 31 years for both companies, while training and mentoring student drivers. In his overall travels, he drove the roads traveling all of the 48 continental United States.

He loved going to the shooting range, fishing, collecting coins and money from all over the world. The Dallas Cowboys were a special team to him and he was an avid supporter of Texas Tech sports. He was brought up in a Christian based home.

Those left to mourn the loss of David is his only son, Israel Gonzales of Lubbock; two daughters, Jessica Ann Gonzales and Nichole Marie Gonzales, both of Lubbock; three sisters, Sylvia Borrego of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sally, and her husband Joseph, Sanchez and Virginia Gonzales, both of Greeley, Colorado; four grandchildren, Alicia Vidaurre, Leah Vidaurre, Dayzie Rojo and Eythan David Rojo.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Gaspar and Esperanza Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 P. M. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Venue on Broadway (2202 Broadway). Funeral Services will be at 10 A. M. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Venue on Broadway with Mr. Monty Pettyjohn, Pulpit Minister of Sunset Church of Christ as the officiant. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Pallbearers for Mr. Gonzales will be Israel Gonzales, Rene Minjarez, Alejandro Gonzalez, Armando Builtron, Joseph Sanchez and Isreal Trevino.

Following the burial at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, the Gonzales Family is announcing an open invitation for a meal gathering to be held at Grand Central Venue, located at 1219 Avenue J in Lubbock.
