Obituary - The Baton Rouge Advocate; 4/8/2021

Nancy Caballero Watts, a native of Plattenville and long-time resident of Central, passed away April 2, 2021 at the age of 81. Nancy retired from Tenneco and then the State of Louisiana where she was an Executive Administrative Assistant. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell B. Watts; parents, Rene P. Caballero and Isabelle Guillot Caballero; and brother Rene A. Caballero. She is survived by brothers, Eugene Caballero (Kathlene) and Gary Caballero; sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Verzwyvelt (John) and Vivian Bailey (Ken); sisters-in-law Marlene Caballero and Joyce McDaniel; stepdaughters Cindy Russell and Kathy Watts; stepson David Brent Watts (Monique); grandchildren Shannon Slayton (Travis), Megan Law (Ben) and Eric Watts; great-grandchild, Margaret "Daisy" Law; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was a devout Catholic and active in parish ministries. She was instrumental in forming and leading a Come, Lord Jesus! (CLJ) Scripture Study Program in her parish and participated in this program for many years. She served as the first CLJ Coordinator in the Diocese of Baton Rouge, helping to form Small Faith Communities at other parishes within the Diocese. Visitation will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church from 9 am to 11 am with recitation of the Rosary at 10 am, followed by an 11 am Funeral Mass at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Baker on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Interment will follow in Green Oaks Memorial Park. Masks are required at both locations.
