Obituary of Sherry G. Petty
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Sherry G. Petty are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, April 9, 2021 at Red Wing Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Robinson officiating.
Mrs. Petty, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the age of seventy-nine. She was of the Baptist faith and worked at the Arc of Morehouse with the mentally challenged. Mrs. Petty enjoyed her nursing career for about twenty years and also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies.
Mrs. Petty is survived by her daughter, Cathy Petty; son, Robert Michael Petty; brothers, Leroy Turner and wife Beatrice, James Turner, Colin Turner and wife Joanne; grandchildren, Amanda Petty, Krystal Petty Lopez, Alisha Collins, Robin Petty, Patrick Petty, Dustin Robertson; two great-grandchildren, Ashton Little, Ducatti Yarbrough, Aaliyah Sanchez, Isaiah Lopez, Abijah Lopez, Ashton Collins, Elijah Collins, Kyleigh Crenshaw, Thea Robertson and Charlie Robertson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Estus and Jessie Turner; husband, Robert H. Petty; son, Charles E. Petty; granddaughter, Tessica Robertson; brother, Samuel Turner; and sister-in-law, Rosie Turner.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Turner, John Harper, Jr, Patrick Petty, and Dustin Robertson.
