Edwin Jay Baker, 89, of High St., passed away after a long illness, Wednesday, April 7, 2021, with loved ones by his side.

Born March 28, 1932, in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Archibald and Edna (Brainard) Baker.

Edwin attended Warrensburg High School and later went on to marry Herma D. Para in 1951.

He was the owner and operator of Custom Pools Inc. and was the Supervisor of the Town of Thurman for twenty years. In his younger years, he raced on a Dirt Track in his car "Super 6" in Warrensburg.

Edwin was a past member of the Volunteer Fire Company for the Town of Thurman.

Some of his enjoyments in life included golfing, hunting, horse track racing, and spending time with family, friends, and his grandson.

Edwin also enjoyed his winter home in Trenton, Florida for many years where he golfed, fished, enjoyed going to the races, and going to the yearly "Beast Feast" with his sister Verna and her husband Herb.

In addition to his parents, Edwin was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Suzie Baker.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Herma D. Baker; children, Victoria (David) Robinson and Edwin J. Baker Jr.; grandchildren, Jonathan C. (Courtney) Robinson, and Dexter J. (Dana) Baker; great-grandson, Gabriel F. Robinson; sisters, Verna (Herb) Springer, and Linda Baker; brothers, Maynard (Janice) Baker, James (Barbara) Baker, and Fred (Debbie) Baker; and his cat Tiger.
