William M. Abel Jr., 80, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Abel was born June 20, 1930, in Hartwood, to William and Queen Latham Abel.
Mr. Abel retired after 21 years in the United States Air Force, and then went on to retire from the United States Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Abel; three daughters, Vicki Sue Merry and her husband, Jim, Peggy Lynn Abel and Michelle Kathleen Milam; one son, William Joseph Michael Abel; five grandchildren, Joseph Merry, Curtis Milam, Johnathan Milam, Tabitha Milam and Alex Abel; and a brother, Charles Owens Abel.
Services will be private. Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
