Blake Avery McDonald, treasured daughter of Kyle and Rachel McDonald, passed peacefully in her mother's arms on July 29, 2020 at BC Women's Hospital NICU. At 22 weeks gestation she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called campomelic dysplasia. The severity of her symptoms would not be known until after birth. Blake was born July 16 at 3:32 pm and fought extremely hard for her 13 days. During her short time with us she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her grandparents Leroy and Jodie Martell, Hugh and Therese McDonald, and Carolyn McDonald and Randy Arnott, as well as her great-grandparents and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were eager to meet her.

Her short life was a blessing and our time with her will be cherished forever. Her parents were always overjoyed to see her big beautiful eyes open, looking around with curiosity and happiness, despite the situation she was in. She will always be remembered as mommy and daddy's strong, brave girl. Her strength will live on and help her family heal.

We love you Baby Blake. Heaven gained the most beautiful angel. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.

Kyle and Rachel would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and other staff at BC Women's Hospital NICU for their outstanding care and support
