He moved to Michigan as a young man in search of work and met the love of his life, Charlotte Cole. The two married in 1968. Dan served in Vietnam and then in the National Guard. Upon his return from Vietnam, he and Charlotte continued to build their life together. He retired from Albion Industries. In addition to Dan's wry sense of humor, he had an eclectic taste in music and pursued many interests. He loved the Kentucky Wildcats and he was a self-taught woodworker.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Tina (Reffit) Hicks; his brothers: Oakie Stamper, Junior Hicks, Larry Hicks, Roger Hicks, and his sisters: Delores (Hicks) Smith, Susan (Hicks) Chandler.
Dan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte; their children Jim, Terry, Danielle, and Scott and his grandchildren Tayla, Terrant, Nicklas, Hunter, Alizabeth, Alexandria, and Elijah.
The family will be receiving visitors at the Springport VFW Hall Friday April 9, 2021. There will be a short service, followed by a luncheon.
