She was born in Caldwell County, NC on February 19, 1943 in Caldwell County to the late William Gurney Watson and Ivelta Valentine (Watson) Greene.
She was also preceded by her husband, Jerry Lewis Cook; brother, William Edward Watson; sister, Leola Watson Wolfe.
She is survived by her sons, Greg Whisenant and Bryan "PeeWee" Whisenant; daughter, Kim Whisenant; grandchildren, Brandon Whisenant, Ashley Whitt, Seth Whisenant, Courtney Palmer, and Taylor Lawson; great-grandchildren, Maddie Rae Palmer, Braylee Faith Palmer, Harper Blake Lawson, Eli Whitt, and Kadence Whisenant; and sisters, Gwen Steger, Carol Taylor, and Nina Dula.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 9, 2021 at Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery in Patterson, NC with Rev. Bobby Pritchard officiating.
