Tyrone graduated from Russellville High school, Class of 1973 and attended Arkansas Tech University. An avid athlete, Tyrone played basketball, football, softball and ran track while in school. He loved coaching youth and adults in basketball and softball. He confessed to Christ at an early age and has been a life-long member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. He served as member of the choir and trustee. In October 1998, he received his certificate of license to preach and became an Associate Minister. Tyrone was a hard-working man and a leader in his community. He owned his own cleaning business while working for AP&L/Entergy. He served as president of the Russellville chapter of the Jaycees and was a member of the River Valley Progressive Men's Club. Tyrone was the first African american elected as alderman and then Mayor of the city of Russellville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Noreen Lee and Charlotte Williamson; brothers, William Williamson and Michael Williamson.
Survivors: wife of thirty-two years, Crystal Williamson of Russellville, AR; children, Karisa McAlister of Conway, AR, and Jared Williamson of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, Robert Perry of Reno, NV, Larry Perry of Little Rock, AR, Jerry Williamson of Little Rock, AR and Virgil Williamson (Shirley) of Conway, AR; sisters, Virginia Ann Perry, Betty Mitchell Williamson and Trish Moore (Geno) all of Little Rock, AR; many other relatives and friends.
Community walk through visitation for colleges and friends will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with family visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the L.V. Williamson Boys & Girls Club, 600 E. 16th Street, Russellville, Arkansas. Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021, 12:00 P.M. also at the L.V. Williamson Boys & Girls Club. Committal service and final resting place will be at Reed Cemetery, Russellville, Arkansas.
