Joyce Jean Armstrong, aged 79 of Sturgis, KY died Monday April 5, 2021 at her home in Sturgis, KY. She was born on November 23, 1941 to Hershel Clark and Margie Farley Clark in Crittenden County, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Wayne (Doodlebug) Armstrong in 2010, parents Hershel Clark and Margie Farley Clark, and siblings; brothers Melvin (Junior) Clark, Roger Clark, and Nickey Clark; sisters Mary Elaine Clark, Jackie Estes, and Betty Garrett.
Survivors include a brother Danny Clark of Ohio and sisters Wanda McPhereson of Kuttawa, KY. Sandie Armstrong of Kuttawa, KY. Paula McDyer of Sullivan, KY. Norma Gatten of Morganfield, KY and Mollie Kelly of Clay, KY. She has many nephews and nieces which she loved dearly.
Joyce worked at the Sturgis Pants Factory for 36 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1997. Joyce was an outstanding quilter and made many beautiful quilts; many of which she joyously gifted to family and friends. Her favorite pastime was watching the birds outside her kitchen window which she did on a daily basis. She especially liked the hummingbirds.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 8, 2021. Rev. Mike DeMoss will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial is in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.
