Daughter of Aryeh and Helen Friedman of Brookline, MA. She grew up in Brookline, and her family enjoyed each summer during her childhood in Wolfeboro, NH. She attended University of Buffalo, graduated from Pine Manor College, and earned her Masters in Social Work from Boston University. She worked for many years as a licensed social worker in home hospice settings and for the Veteran's Administration in both Bedford, MA and Providence, RI. She lived over 35 years raising her family in Needham, MA, then lived in West Roxbury MA, and Lincoln RI, and finally moved to Stonington, CT to be closer to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Ely Sherman; daughter, Nina Ann Sherman; and grandson, Thomas Matthew Logel. Surviving are her three children, Bradley Sherman and his wife, Rachel, Nancy Logel and her husband, Christopher - all of Stonington, CT, and Michael Sherman of North Providence, RI; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Kathryn, Emma, Veronica and Fiona; siblings Richard Friedman, Sarabeth Friedman, and Ann Friedman; nephews, Alex Friedman and David Gottlieb; and niece, Emily Gottlieb.
