Mrs. Berry was born November 15, 1935 the daughter of Max and Katie Mae Chilton Poole.
Doris was a devout Christian with a very giving heart. She loved to cook for her family, color, do crafts, sew, and enjoyed telling stories. Doris was a member of Revolutions Ministries and had formerly attended Randleman Wesleyan Church. She worked at Bluebell manufacturing and later retired as a supervisor with Klaussner furniture. Most of all, Doris loved and adored her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded by her husband, Joseph Berry; and brother, Delton Poole.
She is survived by her two sons; Gale Wilson of Hueytown, AL, Rickey (April) Wilson of Asheboro; grandchildren, David (Tammy) Wilson of Leeds, AL, Samuel Wilson of Midland, TX, Caroline Wilson of Asheboro, Wesley Wilson of Asheboro; sisters: Iris Williams of Asheboro, and Stella (Charles) Townsend of Boone.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Gary Mason and Rev. Stan Varney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.
