Obituary
Paul Donald "Pop" White, 80, of Escatawpa, MS passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born July 22, 1940, in Sanford, North Carolina to the late Fred and Mary White. He served in the United States Navy and later retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding and Singing River Hospital. Not only was he dearly loved as "Pop", but also as a dad and husband.

Pop was quick-witted and loved a good joke. He was a well-known storyteller and had a nickname for everyone. He always had a tape measure with him "just in case". He was a long-time member of Ridglea Heights Baptist Church in Escatawpa, MS. He was also a member of the Oakland Heights Masonic Lodge in Meridian, MS. He loved animals, especially his cats and puppy. Pop adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Along with his parents and siblings, Pop was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Gloria Grogan.

He left behind his wife of 57 years, Glenda McCall White; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Van White, Brad O'Neal, and Glenda White, Boomer and Stacey White, Missy Gafford, and Lisa Harvey; grandchildren, Mary McCall (Will) McArthur, Parker Murff, Lucia (Will) Marley, Gafford (Paige) White, Amanda Murff, Katie White, Nicholas Paul (Brenna) White, Brady White, Taylor White, and Madison White who he affectionately called "Maddie Girl"; great-grandchildren, Norah, Russell Paul, Maverick, and Knox; sister, Mary Agnes "Poochie" (Roy) Mackey; brother-in-law, Raymond Grogan; niece and nephew, Leticia Rae Marlow and Neal (Melissa) Grogan; great-nieces and great-nephew, Morgan Marlow, Payton Grogan, and Mason Grogan; along with many other relatives and friends.

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS with Bro. Danny Tanner and Bro. Steve Cirlot officiating. Bro. Mitch Osborne and Bro. Randy Carney will be providing music.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor Pop's wishes and requests that donations be made in his memory to either The Gideons International or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
