She also served as a volunteer tutor at the Livingston Parish Library for the Adult Literacy Program. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell D Poe; mother, Emily Sellers Bradshaw; husband, Robert J Ruttman; and son, James Graham Padgett III*. She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Wilks(Mark); daughter-in-law, Darlene Carpenter; step-daughters, Cheryl Miller, Lorraine Harris (Ron); grandchildren, Jessica Staples (Jacob) Chase Carpenter, Brenan Padgett, Taylor Padgett, Madelyn Wilks and step grandchildren, Joseph Miller (Kara) Treynor McAdams (Melisa) Lyneé McAdams; great grandchildren, Graham Padgett, Lexi Staples, Noah Padgett, Chassidy Carpenter, and Madi Carpenter; and brothers, Glenn Poe (Roberta), and Darrell Poe (Shawn).
