She attended Port High School and graduated with the Class of 1942. During school she was a member of 4-H and won numerous awards. She married the love of her life, Joe E. Wilson on January 19, 1952 at the First Baptist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1979.
Hazel loved to play bingo and made it fun for everyone that played with her. She loved to quilt and crochet leaving behind beautiful treasures like the quilt displayed on the casket. She was a member of the Lions Club, Red Hat Society, First Baptist Church and kept the Sunday School records until she was ninety-eight years old. Hazel also played the piano for her Sunday School Class as well as hosted the annual Sunday School Class Christmas party in her home for over sixty years.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m, Monday, April 5, 2021 at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Jase Hargrove will officiate, Doc Ware will assist. Interment will be at Port Cemetery, Port, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing her memory is her daughter, Nancy Hargrove and her husband, Chuck of Elk City, Oklahoma; grandchildren; Jase Hargrove and his wife, Robin ; Kasee McArthur and her husband, Kriston, Heather Sutton and her husband, Brandon, Jon Wilson and his wife, Jenny, Ben Wilson and his wife, Wendie; daughter-in-law, Carol Wilson; eleven great grandchildren, Jordan Sutton and his wife, Mackenzie, Noah Sutton, Lexi Hargrove, Lane Hargrove, Colin Wilson, Braxton Buchanan, Lake Hargrove, Josh Wilson, Joe Wilson, Jaxon McArthur, and Maddox McArthur; brother, Bill Tom Leonard; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wilson; two sons, Billy Joe Wilson and Jimmy Wayne Wilson.
