Son of Charles L and Rosella Clay. He graduated from Franklin Heights High School in 1969, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He had a long career with Ohio Bell and Ameritech. For the last several years and until his retirement, he was a Director of Communications at Ohio State University. He was a member of Potter's House Church of God. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of over 51 years, Roslyn Clay; children, Doug (Jennifer) Clay, Laura (Patrick) Londergan and Jennifer (Joshua) Phillips; grandchildren, Alan Lewin, Sarah (fiancé, Jonathan Priest) Clay, Erin Clay, Emma and Cohen Phillips; brother, Stanley (Margaret) Clay; and sister ,Teresa (Gary) Davis.
