(nee Marasco) died March 27,2021 at the age of 99. A long time resident of Whitefish Bay, Rosemary attended Holy Angels Academy and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Journalism. There she met her husband the late Thomas J Scanlan, they were married in July 1943 shortly before he shipped out to the South Pacific with the Marines.
She is survived by 4 of their 6 children, Mary Miller, Monica (the late William) Stillwell, Sheila (Stephen) Anderson,David Scanlan. She joins her beloved children Katherine (the late Thomas) Mulvanny and Thomas (the late Peggy) Scanlan Jr . Loving Nonny of Daisy, Bill (Lisa), Adam, Ryan (Bridget), Bridey (Bob Richards), Molly (Kevin Triggs), Tim (Deanna), Joe, Elizabeth, Maggie (Tony Houts), Charlie, Tom, Jessica, Ryan, Erin. Proud Great Grandmother of Natalie, Will, Cora, Ruby, Penelope, Abe, Katy Rose, Gracie, Mary, Henry, Rosemary, Emmeline, Adelaide, Noah.
Throughout her long life she enjoyed raising her children, working at the Whitefish Bay Herald and was passionate about politics, working on several presidential campaigns. She loved music of all kinds, especially Frank Sinatra, The Three Tenors and was proud to be the oldest member of the Bee Gees fan club. She enjoyed playing bridge, she was an expert seamstress and knitter. Most precious to her was her family, she loved visiting with them, long phone conversations, sending cards and letters. She was a great conversationalist, always interested in the lives of others and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a great lady, loved by many and will be forever missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date this summer.
