Mike was a friend from high school. What I remember most is his dedication to wrestling. He had to maintain his wrestling weight without much fluctuation to ensure being able to participate in each meet.

He retained his dedication to doing things well — playing golf and Madden Football, to name two — but also wanting to help others have a good time. He loved his family and they loved him. He was quick with a handshake and a hug.

He was a believer in Jesus and is in heaven now.

"Along the road of suffering
You found a little lane;
That took you up to heaven,
And ended all your pain.
You may be out of sight,
We may be worlds apart;
But you are always in our prayers,
And forever in our hearts."
