Brenda Holt Adair
April 12, 1941 - April 4, 2021
Brenda Holt Adair born April 12, 1941, daughter of Duren Holt Sr. and Juanita Vassey Holt, in Converse, SC, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, Bennie L. Adair of 49 years; son, Kevin, and brother Duren "Porky" Holt (Paula).
Brenda was a loving and supporting wife of Bennie a retired Army veteran, a nurturing and loving mom to Kevin, who we lost way too soon. She was in the banking business many years, holding several positions. Brenda was an avid golfer (some days better than others), she loved her gardening and garden club, enjoyed line dancing and supporting her beloved town of Cowpens! She began service for Cowpens in 2000 serving multiple terms on the town council, and was mayor pro tempore. Brenda led the remodeling of the Depot Museum, worked to preserve historical records, mementos, and photos. She cared for Veteran's Park, planted and maintained hundreds of plants, and was very involved in decorating for Christmas.
Her sense of humor, her will to live, her extraordinary desire to serve others, will always be a great example for all who knew her. Brenda's greatest love was God, her faith and trust in Him, her belief in Jesus as her Savior, left no doubt as to how she lived. We will miss her, she ran an incredible race, and on April 4, 2021, she won!
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Rick Adair (Lou), Rhonda Campbell (Mike), Marie Vickery (Ronnie), Rhonda Combs (Jeff) and Brent Burnett; sister, Joan Burnett, and several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Jim Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties Inc., 295 E. Main Street, Suite 100, PO Box 1582, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
