Gaffney, SC - - Peggy Parris Richards, 71, of 179 Ballenger Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2017 at her residence.
Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Wilburn Richards and daughter of the late J. D. Parris and Inez Thrift Parris. She retired from textiles, loved gardening and gospel music and attended Corinth Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Ronald Richards of the home; a brother, Michael Parris of Gaffney; four sisters, Martha Whitlock and husband, David, Hazel Foster and husband, Robert, Linda Berry and Betty Cochran, all of Gaffney; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Parris.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Dr. Dwight Easler officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Agape Hospice, 516 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
