Geraldine Green, "Gerry" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2021. She was 91. Gerry was born one of two children to Rosa and Josephine Martino. A lifelong resident of Patchogue, NY, she is survived by her children, Helen Ann and Bobby, her son-in-law, Ron Bentley, her grandchildren Meredith Payne (husband Dewayne) and Brad Bentley (wife Sara), and her great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Thomas Payne. She rejoiced in her grandchildren and was proud of having to live to see the fourth generation. She is also survived by her loving nieces, Veronica Potter and Beverly Freitag Weeks, and their families. Gerry was predeceased by her sister, Antoinette Joyce Scott and her husband Robert ("Bob"). Gerry and Bob were married for 60 years.
Gerry graduated from Patchogue High School in 1946 and began a secretarial career. She married Bob, a US Navy veteran, in 1950 and they settled in East Patchogue to raise their family. Her husband was the owner of Robert Green Asphalt, a highway and driveway paving company. Gerry was Bob's business partner and served as office manager. Gerry loved her home which was always filled with family and friends. She was the quintessential homemaker who enjoyed cooking, reading and playing cards with friends. Due to COVID concerns, the service will be private.
