Percival Hamnett Day was born in 1852 in Brading on the Isle of Wight, the son of James Edward Day and his wife Marion Florence (nee Henning). His father was a carpenter.

In 1861 they were living at Burrow House in Brading.

Percival married Martha Grainger in the spring of 1879. Martha was born in Frimley and Percival and Martha with their eldest son Charles were living in a house next The Wheatsheaf in Frimley Green Road in 1881. Percival was a carpenter.
They moved to a cottage in Sturt Road (now demolished). In all they had twelve children born between 1889 and 1896 when their youngest Frank was baptised at Frimley on the 6th of September 1896. Eight of the twelve survived infancy.

Their daughter Bessie Eliza was born in 1887 and was buried at Frimley in August 1892 aged five years (grave unknown). Their son Henry Kemp Day who was born in 1894 was buried aged nine-months old in January 1895 (grave unknown).

They lived most of their married life in Sturt Road.

Their son Walter Henry Day died of wounds in France in 1915.

Percival died in June 1921 and was buried at Frimley on the 4th of June 1921.

His widow Martha died in 1925 and is likely buried with him. The site of their grave is uncertain but is believed to be in Section VIII Row S
