Betty Jo Neal passed away on April 1, 2021, at 2:25 a.m. in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Betty was born August 7, 1925, in Sasakwa, Seminole County, Oklahoma. Her parents were Willie B. Phillips and Leta Nora Brown Phillips. She attended Konawa, Oklahoma schools, graduating in 1943. Her college years were spent at Oklahoma College for Women, Chickasha, Oklahoma. Betty played the piano and cello and was very active in the music department both in high school and in college.

On March 24, 1945, Betty and Corporal Lowell D. Neal were married in the Army Airforce Chapel in Walla Walla, Washington. While awaiting the completion of her husband's military service, Betty was employed by the United States Government.

In March 1946, they returned to Oklahoma. Betty went to work for General Adjustment Bureau. After Lowell completed college, he joined Betty working for General Adjustment Bureau. They moved to Ponca City, Enid and then Bartlesville in 1959. Lowell was later employed at Phillips Petroleum Company. With the exception of one and a half years in London, England, her remaining years were spent in Bartlesville. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell, of 63 years; one son, Lowell Neal III; her parents and one brother.

She is survived by one daughter, Paula E. Jennings and her husband, Ron; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Cowles and her husband, Rob, and their daughters, Hannah and Harper; one grandson, Ryan Daniel Jennings and his wife Julie; one niece; one nephew; and several cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home in Owasso, Oklahoma.
