Thomas Anthony Horton Jr., entered into his heavenly home on March 13, 2021. He was born on September 15, 1943. He was the eldest son of the late Thomas and Mary Jane (O'Connor) Horton and preceded in death by his sister Karen (Craig) Hartje. Tom graduated from Purcell High School, Xavier University and University of Cincinnati. He retired from St. Elizabeth Medical Center as Vice President of Human Resources, where he maintained many lifelong friends. As a man who has been known for his generous heart and kind and giving spirit, he will be missed by many. His life work was putting others first by connecting them with needed medical and emotional resources. Many tell stories of how Tom impacted their lives on very personal levels. Tom was a gentleman who was a pioneer in human relations rather than human resources. Raised in a very Catholic family, he embraced his faith and altar boy ways throughout his life. St. Patricks Day will certainly never pass without Tom looking down from heaven and toasting Slainte! to all. His impact will be missed by many. Thomas is survived by his life partner Cathy Hamblen, children Tony (Jennette) Horton, Shannon Horton, Eric (Walida) Horton, Bridget Livingston, John (Shawnda) Hamblen, Katie (Rob) Geers, Phillip Hamblen, brothers Dick (Barb) Horton, Brian Horton, Gary (MaryJo) Horton, sister Kathy (Adam) Hayes, 9 grandchildren whom he adored and numerous nieces and nephews. His family extends much further than those related by blood to include friends across generations and distance. A Memorial Mass will be held on Sat. April 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Columban Catholic Church, 894 Oakland Road, Loveland, Ohio 45140. Memorials may be directed in memory of Thomas Horton to the charity of your choice.
