Danny was born May 22, 1931 in Buchanan to Gerald and Ethel (Schrader) Mitchell.
Danny served in the United States Army during the Korean War era.
He worked at JC Penny for many years and also owned and operated Little Pigs BBQ in Benton Harbor. Danny retired from Coloma Schools as director of transportation after 21 years. He was a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed volunteering at Riverside Methodist Church for swiss steak and spaghetti dinners. Danny enjoyed playing pinochle at the senior center, mowing lawns, he was a great cook but most of all, he loved being at the lake and having family and friends over to entertain.
Danny is survived by his wife Jacalyn of 64 years.
In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters and three brothers.
