Barbara Ann Suttles Ferrell, Mama, Nana, Nancie, 87, of Roanoke, VA died on Friday April 2, 2021. She was born on October 19, 1933, in Roanoke, VA to the late Marion and Verda Suttles. She was the eldest of three children. She was married to the love of her life for 52 years, the late Thomas Ray Ferrell. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers Jack Suttles and Jerry Suttles.

She is survived by three children, Pam and Art Stump of Roanoke, Tommy and Karen Ferrell of Daleville, Kim and Wayne Hollandsworth of Kernersville, NC.; eight grandchildren, Melissa Stump (Jen Patterson), Suzie Rose, Kristen Flack, Trae Ferrell (Kristen), Chad Hollandsworth, Katelyn Hollandsworth, Logan Ferrell (Amber), Ben Ferrell; and four great-grandsons, Cameron Rose, Bryiceson Lanier, Evan Flack, and Jesse Ferrell.

She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority from 1966-73. She was on the board of Directors for the Little Miss Roanoke Valley, Little Miss Virginia and National Little Miss Pageants until 1993.

Traveling was a true passion. She traveled all over the east coast with her husband, Tommy, visiting light houses, beaches, and antique malls. She also loved watching her grandchildren play sports, softball, baseball, soccer, football, basketball and volleyball. Always there to cheer them on regardless of the location or weather.

Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life is her family. She loved her family with her whole heart.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8pm on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Oakey's North Chapel.
