Anthony F. Campagna of West Scranton died Wednesday afternoon at home after being stricken ill.

Born and educated in Scranton, son of the late Michael and Mary Fusco Campagna, he was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army. Before retirement, he was employed by the Murray Plant. He was a member of St. Lucy's Church.

He was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed supporting many national charities. He was a lover of all animals, especially pigeons, which he bred and raced.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are two brothers, Joseph and wife, Maryada, Scranton; and Sam, San Francisco; a sister, Jennie Carlucci and husband, Carl, Cicero, N.Y.; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael; and four sisters, Vincenza Campagna, Angelina DiGiacomo, Josephine Hallacker and Mary Roderick.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
