Civil War: Company E, 1st Massachusetts Infantry

Francis Duffy, age 30 years, was enumerated June 26, 1860, at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The enumeration shows that he was employed as a master plumber.

Francis Duffee, age 32 years, whose residence was South Boston, Massachusetts, and who was employed as a plumber, enlisted, and mustered in a private, Co. E, 1st Massachusetts Infantry, at Boston, Massachusetts, May 25, 1861. He was wounded during the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on or about July 2, 1863. He was promoted sergeant April 1, 1864. Sergeant Duffee mustered out at Boston, Massachusetts, May 25, 1864.

Jennie B Duffer (sic, Jennie F.) daughter of Francis, a plumber, and Susan Mc Farland was born June 25, 1865, at Dorchester, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

Francis Duffy, age 43 years, was enumerated July 26, 1870, at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, with Susan Duffy 35, Jennie Duffy 5.

Frank Duffee, age 73 years, was enumerated June 2, 1900, at Prescott, Yavapai, Arizona Territory. The enumeration shows that he had been married for 35 years and that his occupation was a plumber.

Frank Duffy, an old-time prospector, and miner in this section died at the Sister's hospital yesterday. Mr. Duffy was a veteran of the civil war and a comrade of Captain L. D. Phillips, and the latter finding him recently sick in a tent, had him removed to the Sister's hospital and cared for at his expense. He was given the very best of care during his illness and was buried this afternoon from the Catholic church. Deceased has been a resident of this county for the past twenty-five years and was highly respected.
