Shirley M. Richards, age 92 of Salem, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Salem Township Hospital
Shirley was born on November 4, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Merle and Sadie (Menrath) Wayman. She married Leland Richards and they later divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Betty Richards, Sue Copple, and Bill Wayman.
Shirley worked as a secretary for many years for Carl Cantrell Insurance Agency in Salem, and later managed and retired from the Shelter Insurance in Salem. She attended the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Salem. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services for Shirley Richards will be held on Friday April 9, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Salem with Doug Romine officiating. There will be a visitation at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be given to the Down Syndrome Guild in Kansas City or the Salem Animal Shelter and left at the Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements.
