Sparks - Gary Wayne Rose 78, passed away on March 24, 2021 at UC Davis Burn Center due to complications

of an accident. Gary was born on August 7, 1942, to Harley Rose and Evelyn Rose (Mitchell), in Edmonton, Canada. In the mid-1950s, Gary's family moved to Sparks, NV, where he attended schools, graduating from Sparks High School in 1962.

During his amazing lifetime, Gary wore many hats. He hired on at many local ranches, was a rodeo cowboy, heavy equipment operator, and a Canadian Game Warden. He returned to the States in the early 1980s, and returned to operating heavy equipment until his retirement in 2008.

Gary had many hobbies, and was not afraid to try anything, from deep sea fishing to making metal yard art. But most of all he enjoyed entertaining friends and family, telling stories, and dancing.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving relatives include his loving wife Armida Rose, 2 fur babies Tinkie, and Boo, 2 daughters, 2 sons, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

A prayer service is scheduled from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Walton's Funerals and Cremations - Sparks, 1745 Sullivan Lane. A celebration of Gary's life will be held at a later date.

We would like to send a heartfelt Thank You to the First Responders at Sparks Fire Department, REMSA/Care Flight. Special Thanks to the incredible team of nurses and doctors at UC Davis Burn Center, Sacramento, for their compassion and attention to detail during his 30-days in their care.
