Herbert Clyde Wright

Herbert Clyde Wright, age 90 of Dickson, TN died Friday April 2, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Cornelius and Mary Brown Wright.

Herbert Wright (born November 19, 1930) was a beloved member of Dickson County, where he is affectionately known as grandpa and G-Pops to many. Herbert was a proud Vietnam War and Korean War veteran and retired from the US Air Force after 24 years of honorable service. During his time in Dickson, Herbert was a devoted member of Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church, he was an officer of the NAACP and VFW, and participated proudly in every Veterans and Old Timers Parade.

On June 6, 1953, Herbert married the love of his life, Mary (Sanders) Wright; June of 2021 would be their 68th anniversary. Together Mary and Herbert blessed the earth with 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two of his children, Ronald Wright and Rosalind Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Sanders Wright of Dickson, TN; children, Lynette Wright of Dickson, TN, Bridget Huddleston of Dickson, TN; 11 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday April 10, 2021 at 2 PM at Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Ward Eulogist. Place of rest will be in East Dickson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday April 9th from 4 to 7 PM at Taylor Funeral Home and on Saturday April 10th from 1 PM until time of service at the church.

Funeral services will be Saturday April 10, 2021 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Ward Eulogist.

Place of rest will be in East Dickson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday April 10th from 1 PM until time of service.
