Our beloved, Charlene Laverne Womack, passed away on Monday February 12, 2018 at the age of 89. She was born on April 1, 1928 to Jasper and Bessie Morris in Hawley, Texas. The family moved from Texas to California in 1938 finally settling in Merced. She met the love of her life Jesse Junior Womack at John Muir school in Merced. She married Jesse on March 17, 1943. They were happily married 65 years until Jesse's passing in 2007. Charlene was a beautiful homemaker, excellent cook, and master gardener. She always had a positive outlook on life no matter what the situation was. She was very supportive to all that needed her. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents Jasper and Bessie, her ten siblings, Seaborn, Alta, Norma Lee, Beulah, Eura, Mozelle, J.T ., Jack, Russell, and Shirley, and her husband Jesse. Charlene is survived by her two loving daughters Lynda Rocha and husband Abel; and Patricia Machado and her husband Eric; her five grandchildren Laurie Line, Tracy DuFur, Randy Rocha, Scott Crandell and Shawna Crandell Baker; By nine great grandchildren Brendan Rocha, Nicholas Rocha, Brooke Rocha, Scott Lamb, Kyle Lamb, Machaela Crandell, Zachary Crandell, Jacob DuFur, and Mathew DuFur; and great great granddaughter Annabeth Rocha; Sister-in-law Norma Womack; and many nieces and nephews. We will miss her and her sweet southern voice. Until we meet again momma and grandma Charlie. Services will be held at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home on Friday February 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery.
