Carolyn M. Carey, age 80, reunited with her family in Heaven on Saturday, April 3, 2021. She was born on June 23, 1940 in Wilmington, Ohio to the late Russell and Virginia Hampton Jr. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max B. Carey; brothers: Jerry Hampton and Richard "Dick" Hampton; brother-in-law, Bob Estle and dear nephew, Robbie Ray Estle. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carolyn is also survived by her sisters-in-law as well as several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
For the past year, Carolyn was blessed to live with her sister, who gave her round the clock care and cherished her time with her up until the very end. The family will forever be grateful for her care.
Carolyn greeted every customer for over thirty years at Weathervane Dry-Cleaners with a smile and ready to be updated with all of your latest family stories. She was blessed with the gift of gab and never knew a stranger. Carolyn enjoyed giving her family and friends homemade baby bonnets and crocheted blankets. As her grandchildren always competed to be her "#1 grandchild",
Carolyn was surrounded by those she loved fiercely and will be deeply missed.
A visitation was held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington with her funeral beginning at 1:00 p.m. Carolyn was laid to rest by her husband, Max at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
