Mark Collins Dean (Big Man), 60, having accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Mark was born in Lexington, KY on January 6, 1961.

Mark is survived by his son, Shane (Sondra) Dean, mother, Sue Ann Dean, brothers, Steve (Jan) Dean, and Gary (Tammy) Dean, nieces, Stephanie Dean and Andrea Dean, nephew, Austin (Jennifer) Dean, two great-nephews, Walker Thomas Dean and Kolton James Dean, and many cousins and longtime friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Garnett (Zack) Dean and good friend Gary Pack.

He was an avid fan of country music and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends and listening to live music whenever possible. Mark loved anything to do with cowboys and was definitely a cowboy at heart, loved western movies and books and watching Cincinnati Reds and especially Johnny Bench back in the day.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the family and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Betts & West at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Mickey Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Austin Dean, Matt Blakeman, Juan Davis, James Roy Hager, Terry Hudson, Charles David Collins, Allen Lane Collins, and Don Wayne. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Pack and Jackie Graham.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the University of Kentucky Hospital who took good care of him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
