Charlotte was born in Glasco, Kansas on March 19, 1942, a daughter of the late Florence (Matous) and Charles Vernon "Bun" Adkins.
She worked at The Boeing Company in Wichita. After retiring, she and her husband moved near Council Grove, and she always kept busy with gardening, cooking, and working part time at the dress shop. She enjoyed going to concerts, watching movies, and was also a big sports fan, watching Football, Nascar, and Golf. She was an animal lover, and especially loved her dog, Pepper.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawnetta (James) Bennett; brother Joshua Adkins; sister Dorothy (Wayne) Owen; grandchildren Christopher Bennett and Aaron (Ashley) Bennett; and great grandchildren, Raiden, Jack, James, and Olivia.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Allen and her brother, Gene Paul Adkins.
No services are planned as cremation was chosen.
Memorials may be made to Friends of the Salina Animal Shelter, or the Salina Public Library, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.
