John appears on the 1890 Veteran Schedule as being a private in Company D, 37th NY Infantry enlisting on 20 June 1863.
John married Eliza McNeal (sister of Ananias McNeal #212398387) on 14 Apr 1873 at the Little Britain Presbyterian Church in Rock Tavern.
John had a red sandstone marker at one point in the cemetery according to our cemetery records but now there is a large family stone. You can see under it is smaller headstones believed to be the old family stones.
