Lois Marie Atkinson Raines (Sally) of Mount Juliet, TN passed away April 1, 2021.
Sally was born to Bonnie and Cleo Atkinson on September 26, 1940. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was the matriarch, the centerpiece of an extended family that loved her cooking, hospitality and sense of humor — especially on Thanksgiving.
The family historian, Sally was a gifted storyteller who committed every birthday and anniversary to her extraordinary memory. No one who saw her smile and heard her laugh will ever forget it.
She was preceded in death by mother Cleo Morgan Atkinson, father Bonnie Austin Garrett Atkinson, sister Theo "Jo" Kathleen Atkinson Parker, and brothers Bill Atkinson and Alfred "Stutts" Atkinson.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack Raines; daughter Pamela Campos and husband, David; son Kip; son Josh and wife, Jennifer; brother Roy Atkinson and wife, Linda; brother Ralph Atkinson; grandchildren, Amanda Martin and husband, Zach; Lindsey Bartunek and husband, Joe; Cleo Delores Josephine Sally Raines; great grandchildren Noah and Everleigh Martin; Lincoln and Miriam Bartunek; and numerous beloved extended family members which include the John and Joan O'Neal and Jimmy and Winona Atkinson families.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Visitation is 9:00am to 11:00am at the McDonald Funeral Home at 102 West End Ave., Centerville, Tennessee on Saturday, April 3. Memorial service will begin at 11:00 with Nick O'Neal officiating. Graveside service will follow at Charles L. Nickell Memorial Park in Fairfield.
